The National College Students' Information Security Competition is the highest-level and most influential network security competition for college students in China. This year's competition attracted 2,218 teams from various universities across the country to participate. After online preliminary rounds and regional competitions, 82 outstanding teams were selected to enter the national finals. In the end, 22 teams won the first prize nationwide, and the award ceremony was presented by Professor Feng Huamin, Secretary-General of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Network Space Security Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education.
Our Blue-Whale team organized training and internal competitions in advance, and sent two teams to participate in the competition, both of which successfully advanced from the preliminary rounds. In the East-North (Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong) Regional Competition, the StudentUnion team composed of Chen Zhongyuan and Sun Yingli, undergraduate students majoring in Computer Science and Technology in 2019, Shi Rui, a master's student majoring in Computer Science and Technology in 2020, and Wang Yuxiao, an undergraduate student majoring in Communication Engineering in 2018 and a master's student majoring in Computer Science and Technology in 2022, successfully advanced to the finals (4th place in the regional competition). Due to the epidemic, the national finals underwent a delay and a change in format to an online competition. However, the students from Ocean University of China overcame adverse factors and consistently ranked among the top in the two-day national finals.
