Students from Ocean University of China Achieve Excellent Results
in the 2021 National College Physics Academic Competition

From June 4th to 6th, the Fourth National College Physics Academic Competition (East China Division), hosted by the National College Physics Academic Competition (East China Division) Committee and organized by the School of Physics and Electronic Science of East China Normal University and the Shanghai Physical Society, was successfully held at the Minhang Campus of East China Normal University. A total of 39 teams from 38 universities in East China competed in 13 venues in four rounds of intense competition.
The China Undergraduate Physics Tournament (CUPT) aims to improve the ability of college students to solve complex scientific problems, cultivate their research-based learning ability, and focus on improving their innovation ability, team cooperation ability, and fluent expression ability. It is a large-scale event for undergraduate students to comprehensively improve their comprehensive quality.
Represented by Zhang Tianhang, Zhou Shengbang, Hou Duantao, Pang Kunpeng, and Yu Xianglong, students from the Ocean University of China participated in the East China regional competition under the guidance of three instructors. In each round of competition, the team members took turns playing the positive, negative, and commentator roles, combining relevant physics knowledge to engage in heated debates and fierce discussions on different physics problems with passion and wisdom, showcasing their level and style. Finally, our university won the second prize in the team awards, and player Hou Duantao won the Best Negative Award in the East China region in the individual awards.
At the same time, in the Shandong Provincial Competition of the 2021 National College Physics Academic Competition, two representative teams from the Ocean University of China won first and second prizes respectively. Such achievements cannot be achieved without the efforts of every student and teacher in the CUPT team of Ocean University of China.
