The College of Electronic Engineering.
The College of Electronic Engineering at Ocean University of China aims to make breakthroughs in key technologies in the field of marine electronics that can effectively support national development, defense construction, and regional development, focusing on producing internationally leading achievements and cultivating interdisciplinary talents in relevant fields. It has formed a multidisciplinary team of talents led by experts from the Ten Thousand Talents Program, Taishan Industry Leading Talents, the National Defense Science and Technology Innovation Special Zone Experts of the Military Commission's Science and Technology Committee, and the chief scientists of national 863 projects.
Through years of construction and development, the College of Electronic Engineering at Ocean University of China has formed four disciplinary directions: modern marine communication technology, information acquisition and intelligent perception, signal and information intelligent processing, and marine electronic instrument and equipment. While tracing the origin of these disciplines, the college also focuses on cross-disciplinary fusion and key scientific issues in the application of these disciplines in the field of oceanography. It has achieved landmark results in areas such as distributed global ocean communication, small-sample target cognitive intelligent processing, weak signal acquisition and processing under complex dynamic ocean environments, MEMS ocean pressure field microstructure perception, persistent autonomous marine intelligent equipment, etc. The college has applied cutting-edge technology to the field of oceanography and developed core competitiveness.
In the past five years, the college has undertaken major national projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China Major Research Plan (key support), the Equipment Development Department's Key Fund Special Project, and the National Key Research and Development Program, with a total direct funding of nearly 50 million yuan, including 18 important military defense projects. It has made outstanding achievements and representative results in basic research, technological innovation, and engineering tasks, and has developed a series of research prototypes with marine electronic characteristics. It has achieved a number of domestically leading international advanced marine research results and carried out demonstrative applications, making significant contributions to the field of national defense technology.
At the undergraduate education level, all four majors in the College of Electronic Engineering are broad-based majors in the field of electronic information. Based on the principle of strengthening professional connotations and highlighting marine characteristics, the college has established a teaching and research system with communication and information processing theory and application as the core, engineering and marine characteristics as complementary aspects, relying on platforms such as the Qingdao National Pilot Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education's Engineering Research Center for Ocean Information Technology, and the Ocean Communication Research Institute of Ocean University of China. The college currently has one pilot major in the Ministry of Education's Excellent Engineer Education Program, two Shandong Province First-Class Undergraduate majors, and one Ocean University of China Comprehensive Reform Pilot Major; it has built multiple undergraduate laboratories such as Electronic Technology, Signal Processing, Communication Engineering, and Acoustic Applications, and jointly established a national engineering practice education center with Hisense Group. It also cooperates with many companies such as Neusoft, HP to create enterprise training bases and enterprise gold courses. The college aims to cultivate composite engineering talents who have coordinated development in quality, knowledge, and ability, and can engage in research, development, design, and technical management in the fields of electronic technology, information technology, and marine electronic information.
To meet the needs of the strategy of building a marine power and the electronic information industry, the College of Electronic Engineering at Ocean University of China has carried out project cooperation and talent cultivation in collaboration with leading enterprises in the electronic information industry. The college has overcome many major scientific and engineering problems in the field of marine electronics, such as ocean channel estimation and dynamic sound field modeling, intelligent perception and recognition of weak targets underwater, and deep-sea autonomous underwater vehicles. It has also conducted academic exchanges and scientific and technological cooperation with internationally renowned marine research institutions such as the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in the United States and the Ecole Centrale Marseille in France, resulting in significant social benefits and international influence in the field of marine electronics.
