Cooperation

The Faculty of Information Science and Engineering is vigorously promoting open education, strengthening domestic and international cooperation, actively collaborating with external partners such as enterprises and research institutions in related fields, sorting out the advantages and needs of its own resources, and deepening the integration of industry, academia and research. By joining forces, complementing each other's strengths, the faculty is promoting open sharing and win-win cooperation between itself and its cooperative units in scientific research innovation, achievement transformation, application services, talent cultivation, mentor exchange, resource sharing and other aspects. In recent years, the faculty has actively carried out multi-channel, high-level, substantive international exchanges and cooperation around the national strategy of Belt and Road and the internationalization of disciplines, significantly enhancing its international influence and reputation.

  

Adhering to the overall policy of combining industry and academia, cooperating with schools and enterprises, guided by application, and sustainable development, the faculty has conducted comprehensive cooperation with its cooperative units in various fields such as discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, and technology achievement conversion involving multiple directions such as Transparent Ocean, E-class supercomputing, ocean big data, ocean simulation and emulation, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, etc. Currently, the faculty has established fixed cooperative relationships with more than 30 enterprises, institutions and other units.

  

  

The faculty has signed cooperation agreements and established joint laboratories with a number of world-renowned universities, research institutions, and enterprises, and carried out in-depth cooperation in scientific research on global major issues and technological breakthroughs in important frontiers. This includes the establishment of the HP software laboratory between Ocean University and Hewlett-Packard, and the joint business intelligence laboratory between Ocean University and SNP, a German company.

  

The faculty vigorously promotes open education, expands exchange and cooperation with key regional planning layouts such as China-UK, China-Germany, and China-Australia, and implements diversified models of Sino-foreign cooperative education to strengthen the cultivation of compound and internationalized talents. The faculty has conducted joint training programs with Ecole Centrale de Nantes in France, the Computer Science and Technology (Sino-foreign Cooperation) program in collaboration with Heriot-Watt University in the UK, and joint training programs with the University of Western Brittany in France.

  

The faculty continues to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, and has established long-term cooperative relationships with countries and organizations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan. It has undertaken a number of government-to-government international cooperation projects, including the International Scientific Cooperation Special Program with the University of Aberdeen in the UK, the University of Texas in the US; the National Natural Science Foundation of China international cooperation project with the Ifremer Marine Development Research Institute in France, and the China-Europe Space Agency international cooperation project, among others.
