Recently, the results of the second CCF Sina Cup Quantum Computing Programming Challenge for university students were announced. The teams mentored by the Quantum Group of the School of Information Science and Engineering won one Grand Prize, two First Prizes, and one Third Prize, ranking among the top in China's universities.

The Sina Cup Quantum Computing Programming Challenge is organized by the Chinese Computer Federation (CCF), with the CCF Quantum Computing Special Interest Group and the Anhui Provincial Quantum Computing Engineering Research Center as the hosts. It is currently the largest national quantum computing programming competition in China. The competition is divided into two tracks: the university group (targeting undergraduates) and the professional group (targeting graduate students and professionals). The total prize money exceeds one million, with nearly a thousand teams from nine countries, 32 provinces, over 40 organizations, and 260 universities participating. Among them, the university group has a total of 483 teams from nearly 200 universities around the world participating. The award ratio for the Sina Cup is relatively low, with five Grand Prizes, 10 First Prizes, 15 Second Prizes, and 20 Third Prizes for the university group. Participants must possess a foundation in quantum mechanics and quantum computing, making it a highly selective competition with high value.

The competition lasted for three months, and the participating teams from the university group track of Hainan University successfully completed the design and implementation of quantum algorithms for topics such as solving linear equations and preparing quantum states in the preliminary and final rounds. They achieved good results through a series of elimination rounds. Currently, the competition for the professional group is still underway.

With the increasing amount of data in various industries, the demand for computing power is growing rapidly. Quantum computing has become the core breakthrough point for future computing power, and global technology giants are vying to get ahead in the layout. Currently, quantum computing technology is gradually moving out of the laboratory and entering the stage of industrialization and engineering, and has made breakthrough progress in fields such as finance, materials, pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, and is expected to lead the development of the next generation of information industry. In this situation, learning quantum computing has gradually become a trend among college students. Participating in quantum computing competitions has played a significant role in improving students' subject level and quantum computing application ability.
